Sun*Kissed Hair All Winter Long
With winter right around the corner, we see the sun shining less and less. You have to find ways to maintain that essential Vitamin D to keep you hair shining bright! Remember the old sun-in days? Well, the 2015 version is back. So, no matter what time of year it is, the sun will shine on your locks.
My approach is simple. Apply desired color the way THE SUN does. Vitamin “D” is known as the sunshine vitamin since it is manufactured by the body after being in the sunshine. Creatively, it’s a useful tool for me in hair coloring, too much sun can open the hair’s cuticle, allowing moisture to escape and hair color to fade. Your hair needs protection.
I recommend this recipe:
1 teaspoon wheat germ oil
1 teaspoon aloe vera gel
1/8 teaspoon of lecithin granules
1/2 pint of water
mix in a blender and then transfer to spray bottle
(spray a light mist as you would a hairspray on your hair to protect from the sun once every 2 hours.)
This can be sprayed on while in tanning salons too. Keep in mind, other good sources of vitamin D food wise are fish & milk.
As always… XOXO
