A Fresh Haircare Start To The New Year
After all, 2015 is a chance for a fresh new start in every way. For haircare… I’m encouraging you to:
1) Throw away old brushes (if they look worn). Replace the old with the new and try a brush with natural boar bristles.
2) Change your part. This will give a new feeling to your look and style. If you are feeling frisky, really change up the style & go drastically different.
3) Add a pop of color. This is another perfect way to bring in a new you. A fun trick to give a thicker look and add dimension is to select a color 2 to 3 shades darker and section the back out from the occipital down, ear to ear. Nape hair is now sectioned out and ready for color application. I have several natural mixtures that are less invasive & do the trick.
For Brunettes, try this:
6 ounces grape juice 2 ounces medical Peroxide 2 ounces of my shampoo or a 5.6 to 6.ph. Apply to dry hair & leave for 30 minutes. Shampoo & Condition after & finish with ice cold rinse to close hairs cuticle. Feel free to call my salon 310 276-6194 or email any questions.
For the gentlemen out there, it’s time to change your part too. Notice the ever rising part of Sam Smith and, how about David Beckham? I can hear the grumbling, but a new beginning for a new year is so liberating. I also recommend pampering yourself. After all “It’s all about how we LOOK and FEEL.”
Ever try a brain massage? My great friend Sheila Kelley turned me on to this one & it works great. Preferably on a yoga mat; kneel on your hands and knees. Keep your lower back arched, abs tight. Exhale and push your weight forward so that you roll onto the top of your scalp. (do not rest all of your weight on your head; rather, allow just enough of it to apply pressure on your scalp and a gentle stretch to your neck). Try to let the top if your skull roll against the mat as you slowly inhale & exhale. This is good for rushing the blood to your head (food for the hair) & feels yummy too.
Happy New Year & enjoy fruitful beauty!
